Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service offers compassionate hospice care services for patients in Ontario and Yates Counties who have made a conscious decision not to pursue curative treatment for a life-limiting illness. A team of specialized professionals act as a direct extension of the patient’s family to address the personal, emotional, and medical needs of both the caregiver and their loved ones. Our staff strives to enhance the quality of life of patients and their families, and to address the varied dimensions affected throughout the course of a terminal illness.

Criteria For Admission
Hospice patients must:
- Have an incurable illness with a prognosis of six months or less
- Not wish to seek curative treatment
- Have a physician’s order for program services
- Receive care in Ontario or Yates County
Insurance coverage for Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service’s certified hospice care is available through Medicare, Medicaid, and select private insurance plans. In addition, Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service is committed to providing free or reduced-fee services to individuals who meet New York State’s eligibility requirements.
